Vacancy Short Description : Working within a busy horticultural team, your role will be varied, becoming a valued member of our team and constantly learning.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-E or 9- 3. Apprentices need to be employed for minimum of 30 hours a week in the industry with a contract of employment.
Vacancy Full Description : You will be a good all round apprentice, spending time within both the maintenance division and you will become a valued team member, constantly learning new skills and techniques, you are responsible for your own learning and college work.
From looking after private gardens learning all about plants, names, pruning techniques and growth habits, including machinery, strimming, hedge cutting and lawn mowers.

Working Week : 37.5 hrs week Mon- Fri 7.45am - 4.30pm
Salary : £151.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : Qualification: Horticulture Level 2
College Attendance: There is no regular college attendance required as the qualification is delivered almost entirely in the workplace.
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour (effective from 1st April 2018). This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
