Vacancy Full Description : This is a mixed role with scope to work on a number of farms and estates in the same area with a top quality team. Work will include
Estate management work
• hedging, grass topping, conservation work and fencing
Arable farming working with a fleet of John Deere tractors and using controlled traffic and modern satellite technology systems.
• arable cultivations, grain carting
• supporting the team with spraying and drilling
• machinery maintenance in a modern well equipped work shop
• record keeping
• grain store work
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 39 hrs M - F 7.30 – 4.30 with breaks and lunch at 12.30
Salary : £195.00 Per Week

Personal Qualities : Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are key, a good team worker but equally able to work on their own once trained. Physically fit, with a mature attitude, someone who understands the countryside and is happy to work outdoors.
Skills Required : A full current driving licence is essential, a technologically focused person who is interested in keeping abreast of the latest innovations, a practical person, who is pays attention to detail and takes a pride in their work, a reliable record keeper, numerate and a good communicator. Being mechanically minded is an advantage.
Future Prospects : Will lead to a full time position for the right applicant
Plenty of scope to take work based certificates such as PA1, PA2 and PA6, teleporter etc
Training to be Provided : College Attendance: 6 x one week blocks in college starting in October
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may also be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour with effect from 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
