Vacancy Short Description : Excellent opportunity to work in the Kettle Grower Group team, which is part of a leading employer within Norwich.
Qualifications Required : Entry onto the apprenticeship is subject to a thorough initial assessment to establish course suitability. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grades A-E or 9- 2. Evidence of qualifications will be required.
Vacancy Full Description : You will work closely with the QC Manager, and assist in processing samples in the lab. The role will be factory based during storage months, and field/factory based during the growing season to assess yield, canopy & quality.
• Assist the QC manager to process and inspect samples.
• Help to collect samples from the field, during the growing season.
• Support the QC manager to enter data into our database.
• Progress on to new variety development to learn and understand differing characteristics of the potato crop, and what makes a suitable product.

Working Week : 38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, hours TBA
Salary : £224.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : Qualification: Advanced Apprenticeship in Agriculture (Crop Production) Level 3
College Attendance: Block weeks to timetable
Training for all job specific tasks will be given. In addition the apprentice will have the support and guidance of a qualified assessor from the college, who will make on-site visits every 6-8 weeks. There may be the occasional need to attend either the Otley or Easton campus for short training courses and tests.
Other Information : Pay Rates: The current NMW rate for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour with effect from 1st April 2018. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training. Apprentices need to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in the industry with a contract of employment
